Otto DeFay is a free-lance writer and sports data analyst who spends most of his life on the road staying in barely decent hotels. Among his notable achievements are scoring a hole-in-one at the Russian Jack Springs Golf Course in Anchorage, Alaska and breaking three ribs during a layup in the final four seconds of his high school basketball championship. only a couple laughs in the entire book. old jokes and 'other names' for things...things you've heard many times before a long time ago. get a cheap almanac for sports stats and visit a few funny web sites to cover the 'humorous' aspects of this book.

This book was a huge disappointment. The lists get old very quickly, and really don't contain much useful or humorous material. You'll only get enough entertainment for one trip to the bathroom. Instead of this rag, try something like "Badass: A Relentless Onslaught of the Toughest Warlords, Vikings, Samurai, Pirates, Gunfighters, and Military Commanders to Ever Live"

About the Author
Dorothy Scarborough (1878-1935) was known for her roles as a teacher, folklorist, and writer. Though born and raised in Texas, Scarborough moved to New York City to earn her Ph.D. in literature at Columbia, where she later taught writing. She was an early member of the Texas Folklore Society (founded in 1910) and served a year as its president. An interest in ghosts led to two books on the subject, Famous Modern Ghost Stories (1921) and Humorous Ghost Stories (1921). She also wrote the acclaimed novel, The Wind (1925), in which a gentle heroine is driven insane by the incessant wind and drought-plagued frontier environment.

Oh they are funny!

I do enjoy the occult and reading true and even scary ghost stories - but every once in a while it is fun to read something that makes you laugh like PG Wodehouse or Oscar Wilde, now, in this book, Dr. Dorothy Scarborough has put together some of the most laugh out loud, farcical, witty ghost stories EVER!

Now, if you are a fan of humor, of wit, farce, the occult, or just need a laugh, read this book!!! You will laugh on each page!

As someone interested in the paranormal, I am always on the look out for a book like this - as I expect that some ghosts much keep on some 'human' qualities after death - and this book has these types of stories.

First, the book is full of great reads, you will really love the stories and the writing and the imagination.

Second, you will laugh - but its not all funny - they are ghosts - and sometimes the ghost gets the last laugh!

Lastly, this book will get you thinking about your own experiences - or show you how to find them! After all, ghosts are very close!

Highly disappointed was waiting for this book a long time pre-ordered it and then waited a year only to be told it is out of print. Chuck Swindoll is one of the greatest communicators of the Word, disappointed this book is unavailable!!!

Charles Swindoll does it again.

Charles Swindoll is my favorite Christian author. I have several of his Insights and wish he would write more. My only disappointment with this book is that I couldn't find it in hardcover instead of Kindle. At least I have a tablet that I can read this so all the maps are easy to see and follow. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in studying the Bible.

chuck swindoll offers his usual insights and great applications. What I also appreciate about this work is the background and language lessons. After 50 years of ministry, his work seems to be even deeper while still containing the insights he is well known for. It's not in print yet, and only available as an ebook. But it is well integrated as a Kindle book.

I'm telling you this book is amazing and everyone needs to read it! This book will keep you from falling into deception in the last days before Christ's return. Jesus said, "Beware that no one deceives you...". Here, He was speaking to His disciples of the days we are living in now. If we are not careful we will be deceived; not just by the world or the devil, but even by false teaching within the church. If possible, the bible says, even the very elect will fall. This book calls believers in Jesus back to the foundations of the true gospel of Jesus Christ, of repentance, faith, and the simple gospel. We have to get away from the prosperity gospel, which has pulled many Christians away from truly laying our lives down for Jesus and for the lost. This is not a self seeking gospel, but a Christ and Him crucified gospel. He said, "If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me." Read this book. You will not regret it...The author is a missionary laying his life down for the gospel of Jesus Christ along with his wife...

Andrew Case grew up on the mission field in Oaxaca, Mexico, and is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Canada Institute of Linguistics. Currently he serves the ongoing Bible translation efforts in Equatorial Guinea, Africa as a member of Wycliffe/SIL. His joys include teaching, preaching, leading worship, dinosaurs, Hebrew, L.M. Great help for personal prayer

This is a great help for personal prayer. He has written three scripture-based prayer books to help in intercession: for husbands, for wives, and for kids. This one is also based on scripture. As an example of how this kind of praying can help in deepening awareness of who God is, and in intentionality in pursuing intimacy with God:
“Now that Your Spirit of truth has come, let Him guide me into all the truth. May He glorify the Son by taking what is Christ’s and declaring it to me. When I am sorrowful, turn my sorrow into joy. Fill me with hope that I will see Christ again soon, and then my heart will rejoice and no one will take my joy from me. Give me confidence to ask things of You in the name of Christ, for then I will receive, that my joy may be full. Imbue my soul with joy in
Jesus! Cause me to listen to His words, that in Him I may have peace.
O my soul, in the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; Christ has overcome the world! Father, grant me to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ more deeply, for that is eternal life. Enable me to glorify You on earth and accomplish the work that You have given me to do. Holy Father, keep us in Your name, that we may be one, even as You and Christ are one. Guard me so that I may never be lost. Open my ears to the words spoken by Your Son that I may have His joy fulfilled in myself. Thank You for giving us Your word through Christ! Amen (John 16 & 17).” (Case, Praying the Light, page 195).
