About the Author
Pastor Kerr served the Central California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists for five years (2011-2015) in multiple capacities, as an Associate Pastor and as Associate Director for Communication. Pastor Kerr first felt God’s call to ministry in 2002 but pushed the idea aside because she’s a woman. In 2008 her career path led to the MBA program at La Sierra University in Riverside, California. But, three classes away from completing her MBA, through much prayer and counseling, she could ignore God’s call no longer. She decided to pursue a second masters degree, this time in Pastoral Ministry. Upon graduation, she accepted a call to serve in Central California. Taneshia married her childhood friend Timahyah Stoddart-Kerr. Two years later micro-preemie twins Asher and Achsah were added to the family. Pastor Kerr now dedicates her time to the full-time needs of the twins and the ministry of supporting others who find themselves in life’s crucible. Excellent read!

A truly inspirational book that vividly illustrates the challenges faced as a NICU mom and as a young family. Even if one's story is not the same, many of us have faced the hopelessness involved with pain, grief and loss. Taneshia Kerr dives deep into the heart and allows us to see the hope we have to overcome any challenge, any fear, any pain. Excellent read!

it's like God was speaking to me through Taneshia's words

Talk about on time. I needed inspiration, I felt frustrated and overwhelmed and every where I turned this book was staring at me. The title alone stated clearly what I was feeling "Under Qualified and Overwhelmed", single and solo parent with so many odds stacked against me doing every single thing alone. As I read each word, my mind showed me pictures of what was taking place, and tears streamed down my face as I turned the pages, I could feel her pain and it reminded me of challenges I'm going through. I couldn't put this book down, it's like God was speaking to me through Taneshia's words. I felt like giving up on my own life because it seemed everything that I was doing and trying to do was failing and I felt miserable and alone. These words came off the page and enveloped my mind like the words were written for me. I cleaned my white board and wrote the 4 principles in red. By the end of this book I felt empowered, not because I came up with some great answers to solve every problem but I got THE!! ANSWER. The answer I seemed to keep missing even as strong and faithful as I try to be. Asking God to carry me. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone facing a storm that seemingly won't end and just keeps getting worse. I even now feel inspired to tell me story.

Beautifully Written and Inspirational

As a mother of twins, I found Under Qualified and Overwhelmed, beautifully written and inspirational. This book touched me so deeply and brought me back to when my babies were born. She speaks in such a way that I wish I had found this book when I was going through my own struggles. Her raw emotions and the way she puts it in the Christian perspective, is motivational and gives the reader peace in God's word.
You may not have gone through the same struggles as she but her words and life story, in which God is centered, will still apply to you. You can read about his majestic work and her continued faith in him. This book is for anyone who questioned themselves and whether they were strong enough to handle God’s plan. This story is touching and is a book you will not want to put down. A great gift for any mother who has had her own struggles and is looking for that light at the end of the tunnel.
