Blue Moon by Ron Ehrens

I LOVED IT!!! This was one of the best books I have read in the last 2 years! Ron Ehrens has a winner for his first. After about 3 chapters everybody knows someone like Seth whether it is themselves, their brother, or a friend. Sometimes you feel sorry for him, sometimes you love him, but most times you wonder "exactly what was he thinking!" By the end everyone simply loves Seth. Can't wait for the next installment so I can laugh out loud all over again! Thanks Ron Ehrens for such an enjoyable book! Bring the next one on.

Best New Novel I've Read in Years

Hats off for this amazing first novel. Blue Moon made me laugh out loud - on par with pieces from the likes of PJ O'Rourke, and with similar vivid character and place descriptions.
The exploits of Seth, the super-sarcastic main character, are priceless mostly because I could relate so well to them, even though I did not grow up with a Jewish background (though it helps if you have encountered the classic Jewish-Guilt one way or another..at least on Seinfeld via the Costanzas!).
As the other reviews point out, the main character really does represent countless young (say 25-40) adults today who are searching for answers, from the cosmic to the cosmetic. And goofing up royally along the way.
An easy/quick/fun/meaningful read...I hope Ron Ehrens is writing the next one, I want more.

Toasting Ron Ehrens on his first novel...

..and welcoming Seth Gold to a cast of favorite literary characters. Blue Moon was wonderful. The comedy, the drama, the depth, and the characters were completely engaging. Finally a story about the real world, with real people. Seth is "every man" (and every woman) struggling to find his place in the world, and he's not afraid to say so. At the peak of social and professional dispair, he does just what you wish you would have done: hops the next flight for Jamaica.
Paradise is more than he bargains for-- bringing on new characters, plot twists, and humor that further the journey of Seth finding himself, and bringing us along for the ride. You will laugh out loud, and possibly shed a few tears with Seth, but make no mistake, you'll love him.
Looking forward to the sequel. Well done.
