The Launch

Once again Young has written a novel that captured my attention from the first page. His comical, slightly snarky writing style brings out the characters in a manner that I found both endearing and very approachable. He created an entire world and cast that I found myself continually coming back to. I enjoyed becoming part of it as I lost myself in the story.

I enjoyed the way in which the plot progressed throughout. Not only did the characters become more and more developed throughout, but the antics and other issues and events that came about throughout were loads of fun.

I’ll admit that this was my intro into the world of graphic novels, but Young definitely has me hooked! This was a fantastic story that was truly enriched by the graphics.

Young got me hooked again

Mark Victor Young mixes humor, comics and a crime story in one plot. The Launch showcases Watson Sinclair and his friend JC Dubois, wannabe cartoonist for the daily papers. They have a sick plan to realize their dream. They kidnap Ray Bennett, editor of Royal Features Syndicate and manage to sneak into Canada to collaborate on a new comic series, and a hopefully successful launch. Narrow escapes, stupid failures, attempts to hide their ventures from their families and the police.
E-mails and comics are thrown as intermezzos, there's so much to laugh about. Young did his best to create lively characters, typical male conversation lines and intentional twists to keep his readers locked in until the final chapter. A great return of the author of Awkward Stages.

Anyone who has ever been a frustrated artist or stymied in their grand career ambitions should read this novel. The story is often genuinely funny and I've never seen a book that incorporated graphics like this. Very clever and feels real, especially the details about the gun show.

Highly recommended if you're looking for a fun romp that leaves you wondering throughout, how are they going to come out the other end of this bumpy ride?

Barbara Moon is the author of Handbook to Joy-Filled Parenting and Joy-Filled Relationships, both books based on Biblical principles intertwined with brain science. She has been mentored by E. James Wilder, author of Living With Men, a Life Model book. Barbara has written workbooks and leaders’ guides for Hinds Feet on High Places and The Rest of the Gospel. She has written a fictional trilogy for young adults. Barbara is a small group leader, mentor, and prayer counselor in the Atlanta, Georgia, area where she also enjoys sewing, reading, blogging, and teaching preschoolers to swim. She is the mother of four grown children and eleven grandchildren, two of whom are married.

A clear and easy read to help you process pain and return to joy

I found "Re-framing your hurts: why you don't have to fear emotional pain" an easy read. As a counselor and a survivor of abuse I love the truths presented in this book and the clarity by which it was written. If you are looking for a book that you can read in one sitting and easily go back to previous chapters for answers and guidance; this is the book for you. So many of our books regarding healing are wordy and 300 pages. Thank you Barbara for writing in such a simplistic way as you show us how Jesus reframes our hurts. I love the fact that we don't have to fear pain but can grow from it in so many powerful ways! If you had trouble seeing how your hurts can be reframed, please read the book again.

What a wonderful coloring book! One sided and very detailed artwork makes for hours of fun. I've only spent about two hours with it so far and haven't finished one yet. beautifully done!

Beautiful elephant drawings!!

Love this coloring book...the pictures are absolutely gorgeous!! The ONLY complaint I have is that the pages are kind of thin, but I typically use colored pencil not markers so it shouldn't be an issue for me, just a word of warning if you use markers to place a sheet of paper or two in between when coloring.

I am very pleased with this coloring book

I am very pleased with this coloring book. The designs are varied and beautiful. You get a mix of "head shots" and full-body pictures. Some are intricate in design, and others bolder. The pages are of better quality that you'd likely find in a child's coloring book, but if you are using markers, you will need the place a sheet of paper behind to page to avoid ink bleeding through onto the next page. There are a few pages I won't use, as I don't care for those particular pictures, but overall, I'm glad I purchased this book.

- highly unsatisfactory relationships in all categories, romantic, family, professional, and friendships.

- shame, low-self-esteem and harboring secrets, or emotions you don’t feel safe to share with anyone—for fear of being judged, abandoned or labeled as “crazy”, “bitchy”, “high maintenance” or “needy.”

We live in an odd time. Western women, especially, have every right and capability of western men and that’s confusing. We’ve been cultured and conditioned to behave, basically, like lovelier versions of men—which often leaves us burned out, resentful, stressed to the max, and sometimes, in identity crises, totally disconnected from our bodies, our souls, and the truth of of who we really are.

Untame Yourself is the guidebook I wish I’d had several years ago when I began the process of awakening to who I really am and developing a personal relationship with my own femininity. Your guide to greatness

Elizabeth Dialto went from my personal trainer to life coach- she's helped me to get the body and the life I have always wanted using the tools in this book!

Elizabeth will give you the confidence to take control by trusting your intuition, gaining self acceptance, allowing yourself to dream/desire and using your voice to get it!

Elizabeth's known for making anything EASY, as you will see in this book. Life's challenges will no longer be....challenging. I have seen many women get results with Elizabeth...and now you can too with her fabulous book!

The only thing her book is missing is her contagious, belly laugh-you will have to check out her amazing podcasts for that. Beware! They are addicting and will require hours for binge listening!

A true spiritual leader

Growing up, I never really had any strong female mentors in my life. Luckily, I have found some along my spiritual path, and Elizabeth DiAlto is one of the most influential. I have been a student of Elizabeth's for about a year, and this book is one of the biggest gifts she could give to her students. Untame Yourself is full of wisdom, but is also very easy to read and understand. Elizabeth's voice in this book is as though she's talking right to you in your living room. It's raw, it's open, and it's conversational. If you download this book, you will definitely find wisdom about connecting to your feminine power and if all of us ladies do that, then we have a revolution on our hands.

Poor editing. The pages repeat themselves. I got to the exercise and step 2 was missing. I could not get through a page because there were so many errors it was so confusing. I have never seen errors like this in a book.

Wonderful for a small group Bible study!

I went through this Bible study with a small group of ladies this summer. Each week left us feeling so challenged in the areas we need to grow and helped us see what it looks like to truly "put on" Christ (His compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness & love) in our daily lives, thoughts, decisions, attitudes, and behaviors. Each week of the study is divided into 5 days, and each day's study is thorough without feeling overwhelming to complete.

This study is extremely practical, and I really saw the author's love for and knowledge of the Word of God. She has a clear and personable style of writing. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a Bible study to go through on your own or with a small group. Can't wait for the next one!

Challenging and Inspiring

I participated in this study with a group of ladies from my church. Though I had to miss a couple of the studies due to my schedule, the ones I did the study guide for were incredible. Carrie Rogers did a superb job bringing the Colossians 3:12-14 passage to life. "Therefore as God's chosen people holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves..." This resonates in my mind daily. I think of the charge that we have been given to wear compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience and I know in and of myself, it's impossible ... But, with Jesus, all things are possible. Thanks for a great study, Carrie. It was both challenging and inspiring. I think it's the perfect study for a group of women who want to deepen their faith and grown in love with Jesus.

Get ready for a closet makeover!

Carrie Rogers lays out in understandable terms what it means to put on the different attributes of Christ. Over the six week study I found some areas that I felt that I had down pat, but others that I was in desperate need of understanding in a more real way. Now that the study is finished, I find myself drifting back to the study for reminders from time to time, using phrases from the book in my every day thought life, and I have even realized that those areas that I had down pat have even benefited from the study (just goes to show He is never done working on us is He?!). "The Wardrobe of Christ" is a great study for every woman (just starting her walk or a seasoned veteran), for an individual, or for a group.

About the Author
Alphonse Maria Mucha (1860–1939) is best known to the general public for his posters of Sarah Bernhardt and magnificent decorative panels such as "The Seasons." Among graphic artists and commercial designers, Mucha is praised for the innovative style books that pioneered the use of Art Nouveau in commercial packaging, design, and ornament.
Ed Sibbett, Jr., is a noted stained glass artist, illustrator, and author who has designed numerous books for Dover Publications and other companies.

31 Beautiful Art Nouveau Designs by Alphonse Maria Mucha – printed on one side of perforated paper

[[VIDEOID:d300a1babcde6d2a2ded3be7d94a6470]]This is a book of gorgeous designs by Alphonse Mucha which have been rendered into coloring book form by Ed Sibbett, Jr. The book includes many of my most favorite Mucha designs and it will be a real joy to color them.

While this is the first time Creative Haven has published this work in their colorist friendly format, Dover has previously published this book as “Art Nouveau Figurative Designs” which is now out of print. That book contained six additional designs which are not include in this book. As the standard format for Creative Haven is 31 designs, that may be why there are less.

I purchased this book and the one by Pomegranate at the same time. While they share some of the basic designs, the rendering is quite different. Also, Creative Haven has 31 designs while Pomegranate has 22. I like each for different reasons and will be really happy to be able to color the designs of one of my favorite artists.

All of my gel pens and markers bleed through on Creative Haven books to varying degrees. I use chip board, cardstock, or even freezer paper in between the sheets (if I am keeping it in the book) or under the page if I remove it from the book.

There are 31 designs in this coloring book which are printed on bright white perforated paper that is a fairly heavy stock. The designs are printed on one side of the page only and the binding is glued rather than sewn. I usually like to remove my projects from the books to work on and I love that Creative Haven always makes it easy for me to do so.

Best coloring book ever!

I have many coloring books, and my favorites are Creative Haven because they're printed on one side only and perforated for easy removal. But this book goes above and beyond. I've been a fan of Mucha for many years, and was thrilled to see this book- it came today and I am NOT disappointed. If you like Mucha and you like to color, you will love this book.

this coloring book for relaxation is great! I have always loved Alphonse Mucha and the designs are very lovely. I have been giving them to friends but this one is a keeper.
I recommend the Erte coloring book as equal if not more interesting. I have a signed plate of his and I love his designs so being able to choose my own colors.

You'll be wanting your partner or close friends to read it too so you can talk about it

I won't talk about the plot, since other reviewers have already said a lot about it. You will find this book full of good feelings. It is totally recommended if you want to escape into a good story, in a pleasant small town in Silicon Valley. It is the kind of book that will leave a smile on you face. But not only smiles, there are very hilarious situations that make you laugh out loud. You'll be wanting your partner or close friends to read it too so you can talk about it with them, like you do with movies. It is full of dialogue and internal thoughts of the characters, revealing the personalities of Sara, Ian and the others, and bringing you closer to them. The unexpected turn at the end and the resolution is very engaging and fun. You can't stop reading till the end! I just bought it yesterday and read it in a few hours!

Amooi has become one of the writers I follow, even though Romance is not my favorite genre. This is the third comedy in a row that I've read from him, and I've given them all 5 stars in my reviews. His books leave me wanting more stories like these. Congrats Mr. Amooi, you can be proud of this new story. I will recommend it to everyone I know.

After being submerged in thrillers for two weeks I needed a change, I needed to read something fun, cute and sweet and lucky for me I had just the perfect book, Kissing Frogs by Rich Amooi.

Geography teacher Sara Larson is not only happy that school is over, she also happy with her new house. Two months of vacations awaits her and she plans to sleep in everyday, but her neighbor has other plans for her. He is a sculptor who likes to start the day early, too early for Sara’s taste.
Sara can’t believe she is being awakened with a ruckus at seven in the morning on a Sunday. Even her poor dog Kili is missing her sleep. With no other option, she goes next door to ask her new neighbor to keep it quiet. What Sara wasn’t expecting was the nice specimen of a man that opened the door. After the confrontation, Sara perplexedly returns to her house. Her new neighbor, Ian, is not only hot as hell; he is also fun and smart. Sara knows she is in trouble, because after her last experience she promised herself never to date a neighbor again. She won’t succumb to Ian’s charms, even now that she’s desperate to find a date to go to her nemesis’ wedding in a month’s time, for that she has online dating.
Ian likes his new crabby neighbor. She is beautiful, funny and the chemistry between them is something they can’t deny. He knows she doesn’t date neighbors, but he is willing to do everything in his power to make her break her rule because he knows they are good together.

I liked Sara, she was a beautiful person and a great friend. After learning about her past it was easy to understand why she didn’t want to date her neighbor. Seeing her experience with online dating was incredibly entertaining. Her dates were all unusual, comical, but the best part they were believable.

Ian was a delightful character. I liked that he was cute, smart and caring. I loved how he was with his grandparents and with his best friend. I also liked what he did for Sara at the end, that showed how committed he was to make things work between them.

The chemistry between Sara and Ian was very obvious since their first encounter. I liked how things develop slowly between them. I also liked to see them fight what they were feeling, but failing in the intent. They are a cute couple, one that made me believe in their HEA.

The secondary characters make the story even more entertaining. Ian’s best friend, Billy, was hilariously funny as was Sara’s friend, Becky.

One thing I like about Rich Amooi’s books is that there is always a furry friend in them. I like that they are not just fillings in the story, they make an important part of it. In Kissing Frogs we have Kili, a beautiful and lovely Saint Bernard who eats everything she can find and is not aware of her size or her weight.

As I said before, Kissing Frogs by Rich Amooi is a fun, cute, and sweet book. Kissing Frogs is the perfect beach or pool read. It’s also the perfect book for those days when you want to read something that will make you smile and laugh out loud couple of times. I highly recommend it.

One of my favorite romantic comedies

I absolutely loved this book. I read it in one sitting. I just could not put it down! I loved the style, it's really fun and easy to read. I loved all the characters, especially Sara and Ian, they're both sweet and charming and you cannot help but falling for them right away. And above all, I loved the story, it's sweet and cute and funny, it has the right pace, and I got absorbed into it from the very first pages. It is just the perfect book to read on a summer day while you are enjoying your vacation. It achieves the right balance of being sweet and funny while keeping the story interesting without dragging it along too much. It is my favorite book by Rich Amooi so far. I cannot wait to read the next one!
